Burner Film Fest

Burning Man adds film festival to Black Rock.

2010 Black Rock City Film Festival: Call For Entries

So, maybe you've heard of Burning Man, the arts festival where thousands of fun-loving folks descend on the Nevada desert for a week-long celebration of arts and culture? Well, at this year's Burning Man, the people behind the Boston Underground Film Festival and San Francisco IndieFest (SF Independent, SF Documentary and Another Hole in the Head film fests) have joined together to form a new film festival that will take place during this major event.

It's the Black Rock City Film Festival and we're looking for short films
to screen for the residents of the temporary city that forms each summer
in the Black Rock desert.

The festival will run Aug. 31 to Sep. 3 and will kick off with a Red Carpet Opening Night Gala before the first screening on Tuesday and close with a Wrap Party on Friday after the last film has been screened. And every night before and between screenings we'll be serving up tasty boozy beverages at our Casting Couch Bar.

Just to be clear: BRCFF is not necessarily looking for films ABOUT Burning Man. You
can submit any ol' short film you have - as long as it's under 30 minutes long. We want short films in general that will appeal to the mad, wild crowd that converges on Black Rock City every year - docs, animation, experimental, music videos and short narratives welcome. This is one of the biggest, craziest arts gathering on the planet and it's about time somebody hosted a film festival there.

All makers in the festival are invited to camp at the festival site! Screenings will be promoted at Black Rock City and on the SF IndieFest and BUFF websites.

Here are the deadlines for submitting:
Regular Deadline:
July 1

Late Dateline:
July 15
