MINUS at ADE 2010

ADE CONFERENCE
Behind the Scenes: Plastikman Live
Friday 22 October, 18.30-19.30h
F5 Panel room, Felix Meritis, Keizersgracht 324

Following a string of spectacular live performances around the world in 2010 that have helped redefine the possibilities for live electronic music performance, Richie Hawtin and Derivative's Jarrett Smith pull back the curtain to reveal some of the secrets behind the Plastikman Live show's visual design & technology. Hawtin and Smith will expose how Derivative worked with the Plastikman Live technical team to create a custom version of their ground-breaking software TouchDesigner, with demonstrations of how even the most minor musical elements manifest themselves in the show visuals. In response to Richie’s actions through Ableton Live, TouchDesigner generates visuals and forms the backbone of the Plastikman musical performance.
