My Whereabouts…

Hi Kids,

Sorry, it’s been a while I’ve been slacking and out of the country, for some non rave related business. I’m in Colombia and I know what your thinking, NO I have NOT started my own drug Cartel or started a narco trafficking.

While in Colombia I did manage to get some partying in, I found out where Hard Techno lives, and got schooled on “power mixing” all in an Airplane hanger near the Bogotá Airport. I also got a chance to go to Club LOV or Lost On Vibes. The venue is awesome, its on a second floor not too big not to small, with an out door patio with a roof that opens up. Oh and the best part is a dance floor surrounded by an LED panel its really cool. Jan Kruger was supposed to play that night, but the story was the famous “he lost his passport”. Hello? Repeat ? I didn't hear you he lost his what? Yes. Passport. We did get to listen to Daze Maxim. Much love to my friend Hardfloor and his crew, for playing such a good host to me while in his neck of the woods.

And in other news…

By now we all know two things are certain:

1. Electric Zoo Was a hit over 50,000 in attendance, Big WIN for Made Events. A well produced event that went off with out a hitch, deflecting recent scandolous occurrence from other Festivals. Cough -- EDC, Love Parade. I still owe you guys some more posts EZ, when I have time to catch up.

2. The day portion of LoveEvolution has been cancelled. boo! if you make it to San FranDisco, be sure to check out the Listed event with Cassy.

Where to next…

So today I leave Bogotá and I start my 18 hour journey to see my friends in Seattle and checkout Decibel Festival. The trek starts now, I leave for the Airport in less than 2 hours, hop on board a 5 hour flight to MIA, then 6 hour layover in which I need to good to my house, do 2 two loads of laundry, repack, go to the drug store, get my hair did (which takes 2 hours) and get back to the airport in time for my next flight, I think is another flying high for 6 or 7 hours, I'm not even counting anymore.

Superduperfragalisticlyexcited for Decibel its defenitely time for some more fun state side. Especially the AlgaRythms Showcase... I love the my all AlgaRythm Organisms, they're a great NW crew have become more than just friends-- family. So if your at Decibel definitely stop in.

Now that the summer is officially in full swing, the 2010 edition of Electric Zoo is right around the corner and ready to provide the Big Apple with another dose of musical mayhem. The 26 acres of lush greenery and stunning water views of Randall’s Island Park provide the backdrop for New York’s premier destination for electronic music over Labor Day weekend, September 4^th & 5^th, 2010. With each passing day, not only does anticipation grow but the already massive collection of DJs, producers, and live acts scheduled to perform gets bigger, better and more diverse.

This year's final festival lineup will include additions from electronic music pioneer Moby playing a rare Main Stage DJ set on Sunday. Other notable additions include New York’s favorite resident DJ Boris, veteran German trance duo Cosmic Gate, the U.S. debut from Italian techno wonder Dusty Kid, new school trance heavyweight Glenn Morrison, Dutch electro/trance superstar Sander van Doorn, and Colorado dance/rock outfit Savoy.

On Saturday, the Main Stage will be headlined by The Chemical Brothers on the heels of their latest release Further, Italian electro favorite Benny Bennasi, German trance king ATB, and dancehall bangers Major Lazer. On Sunday, Armin van Buuren returns for a headlining set on the eve of his new artist album Mirage, along with Moby, Dutch house sensation Fedde Le Grand, and Berlin's Boys Noize with his mutant techno sound. The Hilltop Arena will be headlined by Grammy nominated artist, globally acclaimed DJ and perennial NYC favorite Paul van Dyk, along with prolific artist Kaskade supporting his sixth album, Dynasty, and UK trance trio Above & Beyond with their upcoming album Ajnunabeats Vol 8. The Red Bull Music Academy Tent will feature Colorado's self-publishing machine Pretty Lights and his electro organic cutting-edge party rocking beats and San Francisco's freeform artist Bassnectar. Finally, the Sunday School Grove returns with its signature school buses, featuring techno innovator Richie Hawtin and Bedrock maestro John Digweed.

The anticipation for the 2010 edition of Electric Zoo continues to build with a lineup stacked full of electronic music heavyweights ready to descend on New York’s Randall’s Island Park this Labor Day weekend on September 4 & 5, 2010. With a lineup that features headlining sets from The Chemical Brothers and Armin van Buuren and a who’s who of the world’s top DJs and electronic music artists, Electric Zoo is proud to announce the latest group of artists set to play New York’s biggest electronic music festival. On Saturday, electronic hip-hop fusion outfit Pretty Lights provides a raucous headlining live performance. Other additions include UK's veritable Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong, the future of Swedish house, rising star Avicii, UK's certified electro hitmaker Fake Blood, two of France's prized dance exports Joachim Garraud and electro minimalist Popof, and Germany’s techno maestro Reboot. Every Thursday leading up to the two-day Electric Zoo Festival, Electric Zoo Radio will showcase DJ sets and interviews with artists who are scheduled to appear at the festival. New York’s premiere electronic music production team Made Event presents the next chapter in their ongoing success story of top-quality electronic music events. This Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th, 2009, Electric Zoo will transform Randall’s Island Park from 12 noon to 11pm each day into an open-air music festival with the world’s biggest electronic music talent spanning the globe.

The world’s No.1 DJ ARMIN VAN BUUREN and French superstar house music sensation DAVID GUETTA will helm an unprecedented line-up of over 50+ artists across multiple stages, covering all genres; House, Techno, Trance, Electro, and Indie, including DJs and live acts.

The principals of Made Event, Mike Bindra and Laura De Palma explain their vision for the festival, “We have been inspired over the years by what happens in Europe each summer, and we’re very excited to be bringing our version to America; Electric Zoo, New York's first electronic music festival. Our intention is to showcase the top artists in each of the sub-genres, there will be something for everyone - a literal ‘zoo’ of electronic music. For us, this is the culmination of many years of dedication and hard work. The realization of this goal is another step forward for electronic music here, and we're laying the foundation for many years to come."

Tickets for ELECTRIC ZOO are currently available as single-day passes at $55 and double-pak two-day passes at $100 for General Admission. VIP single-day passes are available at $120 and VIP double-pak two-day passes at $225. VIP passes include a separate VIP entrance, access to VIP lounge with private cash bar, exclusive viewing area at main stage and access to VIP-only deluxe bathrooms.

Randall’s Island is accessible by car, bus, pedestrian and ferry.
