About to check out tonight's Unsound Festival show at Lincoln Center. I had a chance to listen to Daniel Bjarnason his music motivated me to come to this show.

Croatia’s largest open-air festival, INmusic, announces

Arcade Fire will headline the 2011 installment of the event.

The INmusic festival takes place on the 21st & 22nd June 2011 and will be headlined by the seminal Montreal act Arcade Fire and experimental band Grinderman. Set on the shores on the idyllic Lake Jarun in Zagreb, the festival boasts six different stages and will welcome 60,000 music fans to dance in the Croatian sunshine.

INmusic has grown rapidly from the first event in 2006 and has previously welcomed guests such as Moby, Franz Ferdinand, Kraftwerk, Lily Allen, N*E*R*D*, The Prodigy, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack, and Morrissey. Little wonder why the event has become the go-to destination for music lovers visiting Croatia.

This year the camping experience has been enriched so that people can enjoy the site for a full six days from the 18th to the 22nd June. The site will boast a plethora of amenities such as hot running water, wireless internet, food and drink stalls, mobile phone and laptops recharging points.

For those that need an additional buzz to the music there are a host of activities such as beach volleyball and handball, soccer, skate park, rollerblading, cycling, surfing, rowing, horse ridding, table tennis, hanging bowling hall, mini golf, and badminton near the festival.

The festival is perfectly situated only 1.5hours from Zagreb, giving the opportunity to enjoy the tourist attractions and the surrounding areas before or after the festival. There is the opportunity to take organised trips to attractive destinations such as the beautiful Plitvice Lakes, the castles of Hrvatsko Zagorje, or go kayaking on Mrežnica and cycling on the Samobor Hills (Samoborsko gorje).

Vice Verse Version 2: EU

ViceVerse pt 1 : USA Exhibition. The photography of Sam Campbell, storyteller of the 1st edition of ViceVerse, will be featured in the Norlin Library on CU Campus in Boulder. The exhibit will launch with the 2011 Communikey Festival.

ViceVerse pt 2 : EU. The journey continues this Spring with D Numbers, Piece of Shh.., Wo0, Incredible Bob, Moodswinger, KidsPatch and NVRVR as we cover the second half of the ViceVerse project, Europa. The team will make residency in Ljubljana, Beograd, Vienna, Berlin, Krakau and many more cities to be announced. The ViceVerse website is back in action and will be updated regularly.

Miami Ravecation Log - Friday 3/25/11

Friday, March 25th

1:02 AM - I'm finally one step closer to Miami in car service travelling from Orlando to Miami with two random teenage girls going to Ultra. Today has been an odessy. My original flight into Miami got cancelled after fucken fuel tank fire at MIA airport. seriously just my luck. I would hbe even know this if it wasn't for my friend Melissa, which was on my same flight. THANK YOU! And thank you American Airlines, for NOT ending me an email to let me know, pricks! Panic ensued, not to mention shit was tops turvy at work. Today was not a good day. So I reached out to my friends and I'm so grateful to have Saint Ali in my life. As soon as he heard what was happening to me he offered his skymiles like it was nothing just to get me in to Miami as quickly as possible. I'm forever in debit, that's one of the nicest selfless things anyone ha done for me in a while, and maybe ever. Even though I have the means to get to Miami, the next challenge was finding a flight. Not easy when everyone else who had their flight cancelled is going to Miami too. More bad news, everything is sold out into FLL and West Palm, with in 50 miles of my departure city NYC. And I'm still stuck at work dealing with all sorts of bullshit that went wrong.
After some heavy searches trying all sorts of possible trip combination I found one last hope.
JFK to FLL - NO!
LGA to FLL - NO!
Newark to FLL - NO!
Connecticut to FLL - NO!
BINGO! I found one more bad news, JFK to MCO Orlando - YES! I'll take it.
Next challenge, how to get from Orlando to Miami? The quickest cheapest way possible.

Well if you thought logically you would say, rent a car WRONG! guess what? 175$ dollar fee for a one way trip! This doesn't include tax, actual daily rental fee, and lets not forget insurance for grand total of 278$ Are freaking kidding me. More bad news, great.

Next option well maybe I can fly there? MIA is still shut down because of the fire, and every thing is sold out from MCO to anywhere near Miami.

What do I do?.... What do I do? Use this pea brain of yours... Think... Lightbulb flickers off in my brain. Suddenly It occurs to me that I should talk to the flight attendant, maybe there are more people that got stranded cause of the fire. I share my story with Delta flight crew and they agree to make an announcement. Hey what do I have to lose not a damn thing. As we're about to land one of them makes the announcement, with in two seconds - the teens speak up thy they have a car service waiting for them and the have space for one more! This is the first good news today. And here I'm 154 miles closer to Miami.

I keep having to remind myself why I'm doing this... To have a good time because life is too short, to be with people I love, and yes to forget about the real world!

3:20 AM - getting closer and closer, 41.3 miles till fun times. Looks like I'm going to make the Tikki after all, 5:00 AM boring time. Remember those question on math test, if train A travels at blah blah blah. My version goes if one desperate techno tourist travels 80 miles an hour and has 41.3 miles to go when will the techno tourist arrive to there final designation? The answer is just in time to make it on board that boat. Ha ha.

Ctrl Alt Dlt - Pet The Ceiling EP - From 0-1's latest release...

From 0-1 presents "Pet The Ceiling", a smashing single by new Seattle producer, Ctrl Alt Dlt. Ctrl Alt Dlt is Chris Aldrich of Seattle, formerly Detroit. For his first release 'Pet The Ceiling', Ctrl Alt Dlt takes his creation and collaborates with Milkplant on engineering and mixing duties and delivers a substantial single. The original mix commands a powerful tribal Dub Techhouse attitude designed and tested for those who want to take it higher, sure to take them up to the ceiling. Unique and original, this track is not one to pigeonhole.

Starting off the round of remixes, Detroit (now Berlin) legend Derek Plaslaiko follows up his impressive debut on Perc Trax with an excellent clangy, raw tribal number that gets heady and spaced out deep inside. The second remix comes in as a long distance collab between Portland, Oregon based producer Let's Go Outside and San Francisco based producer Milkplant bringing you a no-holds-barred funky techno stormer. This track is all about the peak time hours, play it loud!! Following up is a phenomenal deep, and 'stripped to the essentials' crawly beast that is Sone's Dub Tool. One couldn't take a track and par it down to it's most basic elements any better. And wrapping up the remixes Aaron Nesbit takes a stripped down approach, yielding a fantastic raw flavored track reminiscent of something off early Hot Mix 5 (think Micky Oliver). DETROIT, February 28, 2011—Paxahau, producers of the Electronic Music Festival in Detroit announce the names of 20 acts already confirmed to perform May 28-30 in downtown Detroit’s Hart Plaza; a limited number of $50 early bird weekend passes are now available through www.paxahau.com/festival.

“The Electronic Music Festival in Detroit is an institution,” said Festival Talent Director Chuck Flask. “Each year we aim to showcase the best international talent alongside the legends of Detroit Techno.”

One of the 20 acts announced today was Sven Väth, considered among the first DJs to play trance records, and founder of the legendary trance music label Harthouse, will be performing in Detroit for Movement 2011.

“Sven has been on our list of artist performances we wanted to be able to offer Electronic Music Festival attendees for years,” said Flask. “His presence at this year’s festival is an example of how the Detroit festival has evolved to become a major tour stop for world-renowned artists.”

Also announced was Visionquest—Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss—an innovative and exciting new breed of DJ/producers from Detroit that are often featured with two members performing together live, and the other two DJing in the same set.
